The Design Process
The Consultation: Although every design project is different, a consultation is always the first step in the process. We believe a successful project starts with clear communication to ensure your needs are met. We offer a complimentary phone conversation to hear a bit more about your project, explain how we work, and answer your questions. If you like what you hear, you can schedule an initial design consultation to meet in your home. This paid consultation will include an overview of the existing spaces, your goals for the project, a rough timeline for completion, and your estimated budget. We will review the scope of work and come up with a strategy to tackle your project.
The Proposal: Based on our consultation, we will present you with a personalized Letter of Agreement that will outline the project scope and estimated design fees. Upon approval of the Letter of Agreement and payment of the project retainer, we will schedule your project!
Site Survey: We will schedule a time to visit the site to take measurements and photos of the space. We will use this information to develop plans, elevations, and details for your project. During this time, we will also bring in the additional trades required for the project for estimates. We ask clients assist by providing inspiration photos of spaces they admire to help us hone your style and overall look and feel of the space.
The Design: We will use our site visit and client provided inspiration to develop the preliminary design through initial drawings and design concept. The design concept will evoke the overall desired feeling of the space and will help inform future decision making. This may include reviewing finish schemes and lighting selections or finalizing floor plans + architectural details for the space. Upon approval and payment of the 75% deposit, we will start ordering goods and working with the trades to implement the plan. All items except for fixed lighting, plumbing, and wallpaper needed for
construction will ship to the warehouse for receiving, inspection, and storage until ready for installation.
Construction/Final Installation: We work with industry professionals, such as electricians, painters, carpenters, etc to ensure the project is being implemented as we envisioned. In the final phase of the project, we will coordinate installation of all purchased items including furniture, art + accessories to ensure no design detail is overlooked and style your space to perfection. You will have the option to purchase various accessories that are used to style your project. We will photograph the project for our records and help you celebrate completion!
